Nutrition and Wellness Through the Lifespan

Nutrition and Wellness Through the Lifespan is the second course in the Nutrition Pathway and can be counted as a 4th science for students. In this course, students will learn about foods and nutrition and how it affects the body. How diseases affect the body and how proper nutrition plays a part in the healing process. Students learn about healthy eating, eating disorders, nutrition for the unborn child, newborn, toddlers, preschoolers, children, teens, adults, and the later years in life. Students learn how to prepare foods and how different methods can either help or hurt the body. Also, how the food guide pyramid plays an important role in proper nutrition for everyone.
